Cylinders are the engine components in which Athena has been constantly investing for over ten years in order to improve their production and performance. The company's engine cylinders and thermal units are recognised worldwide for their performance, durability and reliability. Entirely designed in Italy by Athena's R&D department, which draws on in-house expertise and cutting-edge tools to design and test each cylinder, they are coated with motor-nicksil, a nickel-silicon coating developed by Athena to achieve optimum fluidity and wear resistance.
The Standard Bore thermal unit developed by Athena guarantees the same performance as the original part, extreme reliability and optimal fluidity thanks to the lightweight aluminium cylinder and nickel-silicon coated liner.
The Standard Bore Easy Cylinder kit includes the high-quality aluminium cylinder with standard bore and the series of gaskets required for engine overhaul. All components of the thermal unit have been designed, manufactured and tested with rigorous track and static and dynamic bench tests to ensure maximum resistance to high pressures and temperatures.
This thermal unit can be installed without any modification to the motorcycle's casings.
