Having two products in one kit that work perfectly together for an excellent result. Athena presents on the market the new Top End Piston Kit which includes a forged 4-stroke piston and the top end gasket kit.
Athena studies, develops and tests internally all the technologies and materials of its pistons, while also engineering the entire development of compatible gaskets. After replacing a piston, this perfectly tuned kit offers very high performance and ensures maximum reliability.
PERFORMANCE, DURABILITY, SMOOTHING
The pistons for 4-stroke Off-Road motorcycles are made by reverse extrusion and produced with state-of-the-art numerical control (CNC) machines. Athena pistons are made of special high-performance aluminum alloy with high silicon content that guarantee the same reliability of the OE piston, while at the same time providing greater resistance and excellent performance. The perfectly smooth profile ensures a regular flow and the perfect flame propagation.
Some pistons’ skirts are moreover treated with a molybdenum disulfide coating applied by screen printing which further reduce friction to enhance performance and durability.
Piston rings guarantee less friction with the cylinder and therefore a higher performance. The segments included, Made in Japan, have a wear-resistant coatings (PVD or chromium nitride) to increase the retain and the durability.
